Rays Creative: Department Branding

I illustrated two different concepts to serve as a branded logo for the Tampa Bay Rays Creative Team. I wanted to make something our crew could really get behind, something that would be unlike any of the other corporate visuals in and around the office. Both concepts were illustrated in Procreate on an iPAD Pro, and then re-line or tweaked in Adobe Illustrator. We decided to use Concept 1 in some capacity.

CONCEPT 1

The Rays Creative Team has been known to take risks, even if it meant posing a three-foot-tall rubber alien in Polaroids with pizza and lobsters for a schedule announcement graphic. This rubber alien hung around and became a mascot, or at least a source of scare pranks during long home stands. I named him Ted after the Ted Williams Museum that was once housed in our (now) offices.

UNUSED CONCEPT 2

I wanted to try to illustrate a logo that represented the Rays Creative team and it’s blue collar hard-working approach. We are usually fairly caffeinated.
